The Beginning

On August 30th, 2012 Jonathan and I purchased our first home. A two story townhouse with two bedrooms, two and a half baths, a small patio and an attached garage. It's exactly what we were looking for.

After thirty days of incredible stress (buying our first house + planning a wedding = super stressed couple) and the craziness of moving settled down we were left with white. White walls. White tile. White cabinets. And old. Old fixtures. Old stove. Old everything. It was pretty easy to ignore the white and the old while still in wedding mode (wedding planning trumps house decorating).  Then we returned home from our mini moon and knew it was time for the white to go! So naturally Home Depot (can't forget Lowe's!) and Pinterest became our new best friends. Ok, I'm pretty sure Jon doesn't feel the same way about Pinterest.... 

Since our first Home Depot trip we've slowly started to give our home a much needed makeover. The old girl (yes, our house is a lady) is getting her style back and we feel compelled to share her story. Although we talk about her all the time we wanted to document her progess. Beauty is pain... at least for us. But it's totally worth it.
